High-Volume, High-Accuracy: Warehousing That Keeps Projects Moving

PROJECT OVERVIEW
One Source Freight Solutions (OSFS) is currently managing the inbound receiving and storage of solar modules for a utility-scale project. To date, more than 6,100 pallets across 14 purchase orders have been received, with additional deliveries scheduled in the months ahead. At peak, the warehouse has processed up to 15 inbound trucks per day, including both supplier shipments and return materials from jobsites and overflow facilities.
THE CHALLENGE: VOLUME, COMPLEXITY, AND VARIABILITY
Peak Inbound Pressure: 15 trucks arriving daily risk dock congestion and workflow slowdowns.
Complex Deliveries: Multiple purchase orders per truck require careful segregation and tracking.
Mixed Materials: Both new and returned solar modules demand inspection and reconciliation.
Inventory Risk: High-volume receipts increase the potential for mismatches and system errors.
Carrier Variability: Inconsistent scheduling and documentation add unpredictability.
THE SOLUTION: PRECISION IN MOTION
Smart Staging: Dedicated receiving lanes and staging zones keep multiple POs organized.
Inventory Accuracy: Barcode reconciliation, cycle counts, and variance reporting minimize errors.
Standardized Returns: A streamlined intake process for returned materials improves verification and intake speed.
Scalable Staffing: Flexible labor models ensure peak days are covered without waste.
Cross-Team Visibility: Real-time dashboards align warehouse, procurement, and project teams.
RESULTS TO DATE
6,100+ pallets received and stored with high accuracy and control
Reduced dock congestion and faster throughput during peak inbound days
Improved inventory integrity through audits and system controls
Faster verification of returned materials for storage readiness
IMPACT
As the project continues, OSFS is demonstrating its ability to manage ongoing high-volume inbound warehousing with precision and scalability. With proven processes in place, the client can trust that every pallet received will be accurately accounted for and ready for future deployment.
